Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde Under Fire For Criticism Of Nigerian Government

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde took to her Twitter page to criticize the Nigerian government over the shocking death of UNILAG student, Oluchi Anekwe.

Anekwe was electrocuted on Tuesday, September 8, when a high tension cable fell on her in front of the Sodeinde Hall of residence in the campus. Reports revealed that the young lady was immediately rushed to the Lagos State Teaching Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.

And the veteran actress took the government to task, insisting that both the State and Federal government ought to have issued statement regarding the death of the student. She took to Twitter to register her grievance. In doing so, she tagged CNN and TIME magazine and that was all some Nigerians needed to zero in on her to school her.omosexy-2

  1. I actually don’t know how to feel about her tagging CNN and Time Magazine. I mean, I’m not outraged by the mentions. Perhaps if the international media focuses on the government, they’ll be shamed into doing their job right. And those people that are saying the givernment shouldn’t speak on every death, abeg they should shut up. There are tragedies you can’t simply ignore or act like they didn’t happen, especially when they are brought on by public infrastructure. And releasing a statement acknoweldging the tragedy is not such a cumbersome task, is it?
