Conservative Christian radio host says Satan is using Pokémon Go to target churches

Christian radio host Rick Wiles of Trunews said that Pokémon Go might pose a threat to Christians and churches because it’s demonic and from the devil.

On Monday, Wiles described to his listeners that Pokémon creatures are ‘virtual cyber-demons’ and that the game Pokémon Go has planted these demons in the Trunews office.

He shared the story of how a staff had called the police after spotting a suspicious man loitering outside the radio station’s building with his phone, only to be informed later that the man was simply playing Pokémon Go.

‘The man was trying to find the Pokémon demon that’s placed inside Trunews office,’ Wiles said.

The host went on to suggest that Pokémon Go might become a tool for Islamic terrorists to target Christians.

‘What if this technology is transferred to Islamic jihadists and Islamic jihadists have an app that shows them where Christians are located geographically?’ he asked.

Wiles expressed his fears of ‘strong Christian leaders’ being targeted after their locations are being exposed. He added: ‘The enemy — Satan — is targeting churches with virtual, digital, cyber-demons.’

Wiles also encouraged people who downloaded the game to delete it off their phones, saying: ‘I believe this thing is a magnet for demonic powers.’

  2. These right wing conservatives just act like they have no fun in their lives. Everything has got to be designed to get them. Ptueh!

  3. Erm, what does he mean by Christian leaders location will be made known? Don’t churches already have sign posts? Does one need Google maps to now find churches?

  4. Such astounding idiocy. Apps that will target Christian leaders? Like the app now knows who’s Christian and otherwise. Mumu-ness really is bad
