Celeb Of the Week

Ibukun Jaiyesimi is one friend I’ve made who defines ART. He writes (Hopefully for MMS very soon). He draws. He sings (Oh my God, how he sings). And he plays the guitar. Dude is like a quadruple threat. There was just no way I wasn’t going to feature him on MyMindSnaps as someone worth knowing.

When I asked him to give us a peek into himself, here’s what he had to say:

“Fun facts about me? It’s funny how my mind goes blank when this question is asked. Fun facts, fun facts, fun facts… Hmmm…

“Oh well, I love to sing. LOVE. I’m always singing something even when I walk. I’m not necessarily good at it, but the need to open my mouth and belt out the lyrics of my favorite songs is always there. When I’m sad, when I’m happy, except when I’m angry.

“I’m a big fan of Owl City, I’ve got almost all his albums and listen to some of his tracks on Sound Cloud. His music transports me to other places, from the deep reaches of space in the song ‘Galaxy’, to a place where cherry bombs stain the blackbirds red in ‘Kamikaze’. I like that in an artist, the ability to make me feel things and connect.

“What else… What else… I don’t have a lot of confidence in myself. This video up here has got a lot of positive reviews from friends and families and even strangers who want to meet me just because of the video and I keep thinking it’s a fluke. I still haven’t gotten to the place I’d like to be as a singer and performer but I know I will.

Don’t lemme bore you with lil ole me. Check on the song below, I hope you enjoy it. Thank you!”

So below is a youtube link to his cover of the song, Blow Me (One Last Kiss), and more of his pictures. Enjoy.
